Breaking News:
Himalayan Goji Juice: Newly Updated February 2010Readers RespondThe following are NEW responses JUST received from around the world since our latest update February 18, 2010: I was led to believe Goji Juice was something it wasn't and not even close to being! From being cold processed to it working on the cellular level to having the all important polysaccharides! Numerous things were told to me and I was assured all was truth! I am disabled and giving false hope to someone in a position such as mine is horribly wrong! H.A.
Hi,from NZ,I am so angry with FreeLife and their supposed experts. I feel stupid for selling it for them and am horrified that I have fallen for their crap. I have spent thousands of dollars and sold many single bottles and boxes to many people. How do I go back to these people and tell them its all a lie???? I can't. I actually don't know what to do from here. ITS HORRIBLE. I joined Freelife back in october 2007, I believed all that was said to me. I also sat at a meeting with Mindell in Auckland, New Zealand where he told us all about how goji helped reduced breast cancer. Also was told it was not heat treated. I am absolutley furious with freelife and the people who got me into this. L.M.
I trusted this Company with my Life. I am a Reg. Nurse who did patients teaching for 30 years, not lying to them. When I found out about ALL the lies that FreeLife used to brainwash it's Marketing Excutive and convinced all of us to tell everyone we know, the same lies, it made me sick to my stomach. How could they spread such trash. They deserve to crash, and payoff everyone who they fooled, and used them to build their empire. H.M.
I was lied to about this product and what it could do for the people. It is a total sham... I was coerced into making false medical claims for this fake product. I'M PISSED ABOUT THAT! G.G.
Yes, we believed their claims and had we not come upon www.breathe.org we would not have known the truth. They lied, we believed it and deserve our money back. Thank you for revealing the truth! J.H.
YES! I was told that the FREELIFE GOJI AND THE FREELIFE GOCHI JUICE PRODUCTS would result in a more alkaline balance. I also purchased urine test strips and tested for several months. My pH level was unaffected by the use of the FREELIFE juice products. I stopped using the FREELIFE juice products after consuming them on a regular basis for over one year. I spent over $150.00 per month for over a year. T.G.
Yes, I definitely deserve a refund. It doesn't do what it claims to do... I was told many claims that have no substantiation. I asked for a refund, according to their own printed policies, and was not given it. Almost all the verbage listed on this [breathe.org ]website was used with me. C.B.
I have been interested in Mona Vie juice. Is this on the same level as Goji juice? I know it's a big MLM thing - but want to know if the juice is worth the cost, or is the juice at Costco better for less than half the cost. Thank you for your great work. L.W. breathe We recommend only fresh juices, never boiled and bottled. There are lots of great juicers out there. We believe there is no shortcut to good health, and no such thing as health-in-a-bottle. Thank you very much - a juicer I will purchase. L.W.
I bought FreeLife Goji juice from my DIL because my son was out of work and she thought this product would bring in some income. Since I didn't believe that bottled juice, of any kind, has health benefits, tried it anyway. I called a chemist friend of mine and asked him about Aseptic process that this company [Freelife] used to make Goji Berry juice and his answer was this ... Aseptic Process kills all the natural qualities of the Goji Berry. I told my DIL about this ... I told her get a juicer and use fresh fruits, to feed your family.
We purchased the Goji on the basis of their health
I can't tell you how appreciative I am that you are following through on this important work. Hundreds of people, consumers and distributors, have been duped by the false claims. If a company is going to make claims regarding health they have to be held to a very high standard; otherwise known as the truth. Thanks for all your hard work, you have an enormous amount of support. Anyone who has ever purchased a product based on misrepresentation applauds your outstanding efforts. Maybe an appearance on 60 Minutes would cure their inability to tell the truth. P.R.
I have had cancer over the past few months, I am 34 years of age & was told to try this juice, I wanted so much to be around for my baby boy that I was willing to believe & try anything through Chemo--I have been a distributor now for about 10 months & feel sick to the stomach about what I have been selling to people & drinking myself. I will stop all my orders from today. L.E.
How interesting it is that since the CBC interview with Dr. Mindell & your expose, that the company introduces a new version of Goji and Dr. Mindell suddenly vanishes!
I just listened to a marketing/testimonial presentation of Free Life Goji Juice. Skeptical as I am, I was so stunned by how people listening were awed by the testimonies including an elderly woman who claimed that her mentally crazy son-in-law got healed with this berry juice! A man claimed that after drinking the juice for 6 months, his heart is no longer enlarged and has no need for surgery. A young lady stood up to say that after drinking Goji juice, she was free from urinary tract infection. I can go on and on sitting mesmerized but doubtful about their claims. Thank you breathe.org for what you do. We certainly need you to counteract false claims and quackeries to make this world a better place. T.
I love your work! I have degrees in pharmaceutical plant chemistry and my master's theses was in Chinese herbal remedies so I know something of this topic. How the FDA (which was formed to fight exactly this kind of snake oil hucksterism as you have uncovered) has ended up so impotent and helpless in terms of doing the job they are supposed to do is a long story... If Free Life's disingenuous and evil exploitation of the health food movement is to be stopped, only a massive class action law suit will do it. I also see you are already being attacked by "true believers" who claim to be witnesses to some healing miracle. All I can say is, please give those folks a break as they probably did indeed witness such a miracle. But it was not Goji juice, it was the human mind that supplied the miracle cure. I once ran a "cold prevention" study in about one thousand patients comparing a natural vitamin C extract in a tablet to placebo sugar tablets. Expected cold frequency (based on self reported colds per winter as of the beginning of the trial) was 4.26. Remember, these were people recruited because they claimed frequent colds. After two winters on the "medicine," we broke the code and the participants taking vitamin C had reported only 0.92 colds per winter (obviously, some has none). Unfortunately for the sponsor, the folks taking the sugar tablets had only 0.91 colds per winter on the average with no statistical difference between the groups. For reasons you can guess, the data were never published. But if a fake sugar pill can reduce viral colds over a two year period from an expected average of almost nine to less than two, then nothing reported for Goji would surprise me. D.S.
We don't make a lot of money and Kevin started taking it because of Gerd and Barrettt's esophagus. He was afraid of it turning into cancer and the claims that Freelife made concerning miracle molecules and that no one elses goji was pure because only Freelife by not heat treating had figured out how to keep it pure. Then come to find out they do heat treat theirs and it is no different than other makers of goji...we were payin $150 a month! And now we find out all the claims of curing things are not truthfull and lead by a doctor whose degree is questionable. The cd we were shown and meetings where you were told that it could cure anything, make you live longer and on and on all based on lies and false research just tears you apart to think you spent that kind of hard earned money on something that is not what they claim it to be. They should have to reinburse us just based on all the false claims alone! K.A. (spent $3100)
Hi, I live in New Zealand I grow Goji berries in my home garden. (They have been naturalised in NZ since around 1865ish brought over by the Chinese gold miners all that time ago.) I once went to one of those goji quack presentations as like you I knew the juice couldn't be naturally juiced. I played dumb...and listened to about an hour of bullshit.
Advertaisment of Goji juice indicate that Goji juice is powerful antioxidant, treat allergies, lowers cholesterol, improves immune system and very effective in treating diabetes. I was very interested to improve my health because I have all this problems. I spend thousands dollars on Gogi juice, but no results. I believed that Goji juice will help me, but now I understand that it was a big SCAM.
Bravo for your work!!! D.D.
Hello, I just wanted to tell you that your website is incredible and I am so glad that someone has taken the time to seek out and tell the truth about this product. Cheers to you for a job well done!!! Regards, Rich
Very well put together, just the facts no spin! M.E.
I had been a freelife rep for almost four years until I watched the CBC report. I was devastated and hurt to realize ... I had spent thousands on the juice as well as marketing materials. I closed my account and received a refund. I sent a copy of the CBC report to all my customers and downline and apologized to them for involving them... John M. Griffin
Thank you! I was told many times that the juice was raw, and I always said, but how could that be? It seemed literally impossible to me that it could be raw and not need to be refrigerated and have a short shelf life. I was told each time that it was indeed raw, and I started feeling a little crazy, like someone was insisting to me that the world was flat when I was saying it is round!
... when I first joined and started asking a lot of questions I was shut up very fast. I just thought I was being my over reactive self trying to find all information. However, on reading your site I now know I am right. Today I will be contacting the General Manager here in Australia to ask why as a distributor I was never told the product was heat treated... I have very high ethics and now I have to go back to my customers to let them know the product is actually heat treated ... Freelife cleverly omitted the fact it is heat treated.
HIMALAYAN GOJI JUICE HAS DONE MIRACLES FOR MY HEALTH AND MANY PEOPLE I KNOW ... YES I AM A DISTRIBUTOR ... E.N. breathe If the product works for you and your customers, then blessings.
My mother is unfortunately stricken with very advanced stomach cancer and the NURSE today in the recovery room (Had stent put in bile duct today) told me SPECIFICALLY to get the HIMILAYAN Goji juice from Freelife as she will be back to normal after taking it!!!!!!!!!
Whatever negative words you say about goji I am not going to believe you. You see I witnessed how a hopeless person dying of cancer recovered because of goji juice. I don't know what your problem is or I don't know what pharma companies you are representing. The fact remains the same, goji juice is the hope of mankind! breathe We'd like to see your doctor's statements and medical records to support this claim. If you cannot provide this, you might want to rethink your belief. Our consumer advice to the public: Be very wary when you hear people make claims like this. People often believe what they want to believe for various subjective reasons.
You would think that a company which claims to monitor and "standardize" each batch of juice for the proper "spectral signature" would also be able to show some evidence. However, the claims for HGJ polysaccharides have yet to be substantiated with clear and demonstrable data. I feel that ALL scientific claims made on a product should be backed by independent scientific research, not merely pseudo-scientific mumbo jumbo. J.M.
You hipocrates [uncorrected spelling] you just don't want anyone to find healing in anything else that is not the medical field. A.R. I can tell the people that put this website are connected to to drug companies because you KNOW this is going to hurt your wallet!!!! anonymous breathe We are natural food advocates. We advocate organic foods for health and healing. We do not consider bottled goji juice as a natural food. This is a processed product. FreeLife admits that its goji juice is "pharmaceutical grade." We will also mention that, with the exception of a rare emergency, we do not take drugs of any kind, including aspirin, Tylenol, cold remedies, or even dental anesthesia. David is so hard core that he had a wisdom tooth removed "in the raw" - no drugs. You can probably guess how we feel about the big drug companies.
Your article is very well researched and presented. And to the one who accused the writers of being drug advocates ... I can only say "What on earth have you been smoking to draw that conclusion?"
Hi!!! BE WELL!!!
Can you please stop providing people with false information? Goji is an excellent product. J.M. breathe Please permit us the freedom to tell our story and express views and opinions which may differ from yours. If we have misstated any fact, please let us know and we will make it right. See our "Open Air" Policy.
You are very misleading in your campaign to slander Freelife for using a very minute amount of preservatives in their goji juice. This preservative called Sodium Benzoate is naturally produced in a wide variety of foods. As a matter of fact, the amount that is produced naturally in foods exceeds what the FDA allows people to add to foods! [from a FreeLife distributor] breathe Read our Preservatives page and you will find this link to the FDA that states that sodium benzoate is not found naturally in foods. Your statement that sodium benzoate is natural is "slander" against natural foods.
I emailed my goji upline and he emailed back the fact that he says it is raw.
I just wanted to thank you all for the work on this site. My husband's family sells Goji/Gochi juice and they really cannot afford the juice to begin with. I really appreciated how you more than once explained that the representatives and people who sell goji/gochi are nice people. This is so true... They are very passionate people who have been misled... Thanks for showing people the facts and loopholes in Freelife and it's "miracle" juice.
Kudos to you! You did a splendid job revealing the hidden facts behind one of the more popular products of recent vintage. I urge you to continue with your efforts. There is an unbelievable amount of hype surrounding the raw food "movement" ... The falsehood of "natural flavors" deserves much attention. Anyway, keep up the good work... Fred breathe The biggest hype we've seen is when FreeLife distributors try to market their expensive heat processed juice as raw.
Your article on the Freelife Goji Juice was very enlightening. J.F.
If this were the Garden of Eden and we were all running around with nothing to do but sit and eat organic raw whole foods freshly picked from the nearest tree, life would be swell...but in today's busy society it is unrealistic to think that the vast majority of families have the time or resources to be such purists. breathe Eating organic foods need not take extra time; we can simply make healthier choices while shopping. The closest thing to the Garden of Eden today is the organic farm. There are important reasons why eating organic is far better for our health - and the health of our planet. (We will publish a report on organic foods in the future.) Organic foods, however, do cost more, because they are real foods grown in a bio-responsible way - in tune with Nature. When you consume organic, you're not adding to your body's "toxic load" from pesticides. If you spend your cash on expensive goji juice, and if you don't allocate money to afford healthy organic foods, do you really feel this is the wiser choice? Does anyone really believe that any bottled juice could ever substitute for the life-promoting benefits of a diverse, holistic diet? (Note: The various juices in GoChi and Himalayan Goji Juice are not organic. Considering the high cost of FreeLife products, it is amazing to us that FreeLife does not care to use organic versions of its apple, pear, grape and pomegranate juice concentrates which are added to its nonorganic goji juice concentrates. For more ingredient info, see The Secret Recipe Revealed.)
Thanks for your story. Whole foods is the way to go. I just got back from studying with an Egyptian Doctor who was trained in the old ways... so profound. if we all could learn about life as they did we would know how to live and eat and play with life.. not unschool ourselves and give ourselves away to such glamour of words... Thank you for all your hard work... greatly appreciated. Lisa Michelle
You guys are awesome! I recently had it out with a guy that was selling the product. Actually he yelled and screamed at me for asking questions about their products.
Thank you for getting the truth out! S.S.
Thank you for keeping America on top of what is going on behind closed doors.
Thank you for sharing such thorough due diligence. You have performed a huge service ... A thousand KUDOS!!!!!!!!!! M.S. I never thought I'd spend so much time on one web site but this is awesome! E.B.
Thank you for watching out for people like myself... May I ask who you folks are so that I feel more comfortable that you have the credentials required for me to make a change in my decision. breathe We are just ordinary people searching out the truth.
